Super secret project underway
(Preview)
It started with selling off my factory shifter and console to another member at the Bowtie Brunch.... I just ordered the main piece this afternoon. The only hint I'll share right now is that I've been looking at lots of shifter balls.

Need Help on Odd U-joint at rear of driveshaft on 66 SS
(Preview)
I have an odd U joint at the rear. At sometime, someone replaced the rear tube yoke as it is NOT the standard 66 tube yoke. I think its an original driveshaft and the front tube yoke and slip joint yoke are of the standard 66 type, which uses a non grease-able 3010 u joint, with outside clips for both se...

Front brake upgrade
(Preview)
Going to a dual piston caliper on the front of the camaro. This is a Baer serious street kit I believe is what that they called it. I don't know if they make this kit anymore. It is basically mustang cobra calipers with the stock 11" camaro rotors and custom brackets that bolt on to the stock spindles...

New F*rd Project
(Preview)
Anybody know anything about the Ford SOHC 4.6? A guy wants to hire me to put a "modern" motor in a 1941 Ford truck. I suggested a Chevy 5.3 and a can of blue spray paint, but he want a ford to be a ford. I think the cheapest route would be to find a late 90's up Crown Victoria that is being retired f...

Time to tell us your 2014 Winter projects!!
(Preview)
I will start. After talking to Craig I am going with Fuel injection. I just want that reliability, and snappy throttle. Going to do hydroboost brakes, and upgrade my steering box at the same time. Couple more little things. I was thinking Air Ride, but have not decided. May stick with my Coil Over...

Camaro is nearly finished!

Well, it has been a long process, but in the home stretch. Only a few things to complete. alignment, sub-frame connectors, door locks, wet sand & buff, and I'm sure I will find a few other small things?

2000 Dodge Stratus Heater Core
(Preview)
Had another addition to my "if I ever meet the knucklehead engineer that designed this I'll...." file. My daughter's car "Sally" had lousy heat, and only Hi-speed on the blower. The blower motor problem was easy - a new resistor pack and all 4 speeds are there. The heater core is another story! To get to...

Found my winter project...
(Preview)
Picked up a 200R4 last night in Rochester with a recent rebuild and the converter. It came out of an '86 SS Monte Carlo that the guy still had in the garage. Looks like that conversion will be my winter project. Just need to pick up the TV conversion kit from Bowtie Overdrives, the shifter conversion, f...

One more try to fix leak at differential flange a couple of questions?
(Preview)
Well the last fix didn't work. I installed a stainless sleeve on the flange surface. I think I put it on to far or the height was quite are large as it should have been. I think the inside lip of the seal ran on the ridge of the flange and might have allowed oil to get bye. I think I will have to install a hew...

Thinking Of Doing A Throwback To The 70's Theme With The El Camino...

...for next year only. A little background. An old car fanatic buddy of mine in Duluth used to run this annual event called The Cruise For Cancer. It's along story how all this came about but the gist of it was for a small entry fee, you would get a T-shirt, sticker, and then cruise around Duluth for the...

Gas Tank?
(Preview)
I'm leaning towards replacing my gas tank versus hoping draining the tank of old gas and adding fresh would be all I need to do. Car hasn't been driven in 13 yrs or started for about 7. Figure there must be some nasty surprises that would wreak havoc on the gas lines and carb if I tried the drain and refill...

Boats...

Next to a hotrod, a boat is the 2nd biggest money-sucking-black-hole in the universe... The last few times out with the Glastron, I noticed a growling noise coming from the back. It changed pitch with RPM, and with steering input. Nuts... probably the gimbal bearing. On top of that, the rear bench sea...

As some of you know the Engine in Biskwik is for my B/Block Elky 396 360hp/ holly carb. It was always intended to be temporary. Found a 41000 mile 454 motor out of a motor home. Unleaded fuel/peanut port/low compression. Going in this week. Hope it still runs after I cleaned and painted it! Will post...

New shoes for the Malibu

Just when parts were starting to get happy with each other after the reassembly thrash on the vert, I was at a show and found a deal on wheels and tires that I couldn't pass up.
