As the "while I'm at if saga continues 2 new tools were added to the toolbox (If you do it your =self the tools are free?) I was familiar with the dead blow hammer with a brass head. The Brass pin and exactly how to use it was a new experience.

Yes it would be that easy, but.... the issue is how far in the process is already gone, I have 14" rims with new tires, a new power booster for drum brakes and like the original setup
I have Power drum brakes with original single master cylinder an original booster on my 66 SS. They work fine with the set-up from MB.
i have power 1970 disc brakes and booster from a 70 chevelle with repo Dual MC on my 66 Malibu. They work fine and I think better than the drums on the SS.
much less traffic in Lake City area than where you lived. And I wanted to keep the SS as original.
