Street Machine Nationals 2025 parking

I went and met with the people working the show, here is the short version on reserved parking

  1. All the spots that people pay $25 for are reserved for the duration of the show, Period.
  2. People can rope off "un-marked spots", but they then must have them occupied by 10:00 AM. If not occupied at 10:00 the items are "subject to removal by our staff". I talked to the Mazda Club on the west side of our block, and they used this to get their area set up on the grass.
  3. With issues concerning 1 & 2, people need to contact the "Parling Staff" in person (no phone # is available) located on the south side of the building a block or so south of "our Corner (Stans Car) and they will deal with the infractions
  4. Realistically, there is not a way to buy a block of connected parking spots. The people who had the paid parling spots in 2024 get first dibs for 2025, then later the free for all on unsold spots begins to anyone. over time we could try to buy any open spots on "Our Corner/Block".
  5. Perhaps we can discuss this further in the future. I have some more supporting data but think this covers the situation fairly accurately.

Thanks for reading, hope you all had a decent time this year despite the parking drama and confusion.

Jon H, Ian M, and myself went to the registration trailer and talked to the overall manager, Bob, Saturday and he is going to work with us,as a club, to get some of the adjoining spaces for next year and we can try to add others nearby as time permits.
We would need to pay for them all at the time of reservation, so he isn't left holding them unpaid later.
And yes, he told us the same, exact, stipulation for paid parking, it is reserved all day. He said there has been a LOT of confusion around that and he intends to make the wording more clearly for next year.

These are my notes from the meeting at SMN. Pretty much the same as Mitch, just want everything in one area.

A discussion was held about future years parking at SMN. (After the meeting Ian, Jon and Mitch met with Bob Eldridge, allegedly the individual in charge of parking at SMN. I have his direct email when we get to that point. A request was made to get parking near the club's historical corner. Discussion was held about trying to buy a "block" of possibly 10 parking spots geographically close to each other by the club and then either selling them to individual members or figuring a sharing program where the spots will be utilized by multiple members while reimbursing the club for the cost of the initial purchase. This issue will be discussed in detail in a future post.)

Thanks Jon,
Maybe Someone has an exact count, but I believe we had 6 or more now in the basic area
Is the thought to try for 4 (to get to 10) or 10 more?

The last Mitch and I talked was the club would maybe buy 8 or 10 spots and then resell them to members or do some type of a shared thing. Once the first round of buying occurs then they will know what is in inventory and where. The inventory will show whether we can get spots either close to each other or on our original corner. He suggested that our corner was not a highly sought after location and gave us hope we might get some spots there. Time will tell.

I am glad everyone took it upon themselves to reach out to Bonnier.
