Starting to strip the hood.  Hope there are no surprises.

So far top coat blue, then a yellow, under that another yellow.  Tomorrow should yield even more.  Going to take a couple of gallons.

You just couldn't leave it alone, could you...razz

If it is rough, Karl may still have a very nice black hood you could paint cheaper than repairing a bad one and still paint.

The hood on the car had a like 5 pin holes through the surface. So I got a different hood that I am stripping to make sure there are no problems. Pass side just done so far good. Stripping the second part this afternoon. The body guy here in LC recommenced I get a different hood so that’s what I did.

Talk with Duane about the diff yet ? I finally got enough hours banked at Centerline for my son's Malibu repair and can start bringing money home... cool

 Talked to Duane this morning.  He pretty much said I would have a better idea then he would.  I told him maybe I could trade it for some sheetmetal work like welding, He welds and has done multiple jobs for me; but is not comfortable with doing the butt welds in me  trunk.  He said he was fine with that or if I just sell it to someone. So Is that something your interested in or would you just like to buy it outright?

Not sure when/how I would be able to help you weld the trunk, but yes, I would be willing to do that either way. At this point, if you would shoot me a PM with a price, I can  decide if I would rather pay you/him for the diff now and work out helping with the trunk when there is time.

So far good. Finished the lip and 3/4 of the top.  No damage no pin holes or rust anywhere.j

Hood is in epoxy primer. My body guy suggested I bead blast hinges, hood lock, and bolts and pretty them up.  Then he will bring up the hood and fit it.   Then hood and car to the shop for an y metal work etc.  Then paint.

 I have a 3/8" rod I slide inside to hold it spread after removing from the jack. I cut notches in the ends to keep it from slipping out. I "think" they are in my locker, somewhere...

5AF74CE8-8726-4DF0-821B-2828AC46F8B3.jpegWell there turned out to b a hole drilled hole in the upper left corner of the hood where they did a repair.  I guess I should have had the whole top stripped before I bought it.  So my paint guy has me stripping a second hood.. I think this one is good.  Hopefully the hood will  prove me correct.
