Seems like this is selling for about half of what it should be worth?  Must be something wrong?  headscratch

Monte Link

I had a '72 Monte in college, and it was a great highway car.  I've had a soft spot for these ever since.

I bet this is that Ebay scam. You will contact them and they will say you pay to Ebay to an escrow and then they deliver the car AFTER but you have the right to refuse it....

That's the problem... I've got the cash but nowhere to put it, and would probably be too tempted to buy it if I just 'looked' at it.  clonk

I had a '72 Monte also in the same color with white vinyl top. I really liked it and am tempted to go "look" at this also. It does have issues. There are rust bubbles coming thru the front of the hood and the right door is badly hung/misaligned.  If it's been here it's whole life, we know it will have previous rust repair and that would need to be checked closely in all the same areas as the Chevelles.

I'm wondering what an Edelbrock "crate" motor is.....a few baubles bolted on top of an used engine ...headscratch

I'm guessing you are right Mitch... it probably looks o.k. from 25', then you get close and see the age and rust coming through, and probably even more underneath.  Good catch on the bubbling on the front of the hood.  I would suspect a lot more if that is rusting.

Edelbrock sells a line of crate engines (expensive), but I think your definition of bolting on Edelbrock parts makes it an 'Edelbrock engine' is spot on.
