Dying seat belts-Anyone tried it?

The verts black belts are faded from the sun, so wondering if you can put them in a bucket of t shirt dye and let them soak?

Not sure what that would do to the buckles, so would need to wrap them in plastic or something?

I've never tried that, but running them through the wash machine with laundry detergent sure cleans them up nice!

If you try dying them, I'd run the female buckles all the way to the end where they bolt to the floor and keep that part out of the dye. The male ends would probably be easy enough to clean up afterward that you might be able to just toss them in.

I used Simple Green and a scrubby brush to clean mine up, they looked pretty good, but never dyed any.

You can bring them into a dry clener and have them clean them if you want.
Have an Upholstery shop restitch on new webbing.
Soak in Simple green and wash in machine "drip dry"
Options are open to you.
