Looks to be interesting enough for a guy interested in 71's to take a look.

It also looks to have 14" wheels which is interesting, been sitting for a while perhaps. Is there a trunk lid on it? Maybe some rear end issues with that fifth tire and car cover hiding the back. But I don't see rust where it should be.

I'm wondering if those are 350 badges by the Malibu?

Since he knows they are rather rare and the price is still that low, I'm with Gearlube. With the top blown in, there's most likely no floor left. IF that is all it needs and the quarters and fenders are as clean as they appear, it could be a relatively easy job to put the body on a roto and replace the floor with a 1 piece. It probably goes without saying the interior is a total loss as well. You could probably have a nice car for ~25k~

I just talked to him SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO BUY THIS CAR or I will.....

It has been stored in a barn since '87 and he claims the body is very good. NO rust damage inside. Left quarter and trunk lid need replaced from a crash. He has a new quarter for it. FACTORY bucket seat, console, A/C, PS PDB car !!!  350/350. If it really is as clean as he says, it's a SCREAMIN' deal. Only down side is he never transferred the car into his name. He still has the notarized bill of sale from the City of MPLS impound lot where he bought it after it was abandoned by the owner after the crash.

Not me, I have my project for the winter. If I had the space and could let it sit for a couple years I'd be all over it.

I was busy all day. I may see about looking at it tomorrow or Friday. Also wanted to give others a chance at it. If I buy it I will only get it road worthy and flip it. People broke into the barn where he had it stored and stole the replacement trunk lid and the Edelbrock intake and Holley carb off it years ago, so it doesn't run. I think he said they took the dizzy too but not clear on that.

All that fun and no title to boot!  Good thing I already have space issues so it isn't tempting to use the parts stored up for my hardtop on this vert!

I called this guy. I had a wild hair for about 2 minutes to buy this, sell my 72 and put all the stuff into the vert. However I think with the amount of work the Vert needs for my standards it will nickel and dime me to death...So not going to pull that trigger. Nice guy. Not sure why he is selling so cheap, but it is missing the dist, intake, carb etc. Interior is totally shot, seats are trashed, dashboard trashed. No electrical works etc. Needs trunk, and rear quarter, which he has the rear quarter. He does though have a cowl hood for it and another grill. Top is shot. He did say the drivers floor is soft in places. But did suggest the frame is good. If you had 10K to invest and the time, you could buy, fix up and flip and make some bucks. I don't have the space or the time though unfortunately.

If this is still not sold, I'm betting its rustier than he's letting on... certainly someone would have bought it by now if there was easy money to be made on it.

I tend to agree because he stated than quite a few people have come to look at it. He said one guy offered him $4200 and had looked at it twice. he never came back....Again usually these days when something is too good to be true.....I am still curious, but I got over that 10 second thought....

Its too bad one of us doesnt have a 71/72 parts car laying around. This would be a very good deal if a parts car were involved for any needed parts.

70-72 parts cars are easy to find... I know of several I could probably get for scrap price.

What do you need? I have an uncle with 3 coupes and 4 el caminos sitting in his yard.

I've been offered a lot of them for cheap over the years, but didn't buy them because they were bench-seat, sweep dash, 10-bolt, drum brake cars and didn't think there was enough demand for what was left on them to justify the effort of parting them out.

By next spring, it will have been so long since you drove the Elky that you may not notice the difference in power between the fenders. It did take a lot of polishing on my engine to match yours, but it was worth the effort...laughing
