Someone posted a 70 Convert this afternoon. 10K. I cant imagine it will last through the rest of the day at that price.

Went and looked at this one after work with Gearlube, and it's a driver with good bones, but pretty rough body issues.

There were 4 other guys wanting to see it at the same time.  A dealer pulled up with a trailer when the seller said he was only showing the car today, then taking best sealed bids tomorrow.  I hope he sticks to that, as I think he will get more for it doing it that way.

One of the guys that showed up to look at it is the one that bought the basket case black '70 396 vert in Lino Lakes that we debated if he paid too much or not.  He is having that one restored at a shop in Buffalo.

The seller said he had over 40 calls today.  I'm not surprised with it being peak convertible season, and a '70 Malibu for less than $11K.

It will need quarters on both rear fenders, one new front fender, and probably some new door skins to replace the rust working it's way through.

This is one that either you get it for the best price and just keep the top down, turn up the tunes, and enjoy the convertible experience, or sink another $10K to make it a really nice car IMO.

I'm sure it will be sold by the weekend.

Did you or Gearlube put a bid in to the guy then Stan? I take it the guy in the trailer left with it empty if the guy is taking bids?

I had a feeling it would turn into a circus. Cars like that for that price are just like teasing a pack of wolves with raw meat. Half the Chevelle and collecting community is salivating at whom ever gets the first opportunity to own it. (Which im hoping is not the dealer).

No Chris, no bids from 'Lube or me.  Way too much of a project for either of us body work wise.

Jim, I think he said the restoration shop was something 'Brothers' up in Buffalo.  He said, not too many people have heard of them.

Must have sold.  Posting is gone from CL.

It would be intresting to see what the guy got for it and whom bought it. I hope is wasnt someone looking to just flip or, or clone it for that matter.

I'm guessing the dealer looking guy that pulled up with the truck/trailer must have got it that next day when we looked at it if it was at BTF's.  By the time we reached the car corral after 2+ hours of walking the swap meet, we didn't feel like looking at the cars for sale.

There wasnt any indication on the window of it being a dealer, it just had the typical for sale sign with details on it. It almost appeared to be a private seller.
