Got our 350 dyno completed today for our race car. It is a 350 with a 2 barrel carb and stock iron exhaust manifolds it hit 427 ft pounds of torque and 469 HP. My son designed the internals and we're happy as heck.
Race season starts this month so I am painting the car this weekend and then we will assemble the body. Got my NASCAR registraion done so I am now a registered NASCAR Crew Chief. Woo Hoo!!
Oh and the Chevelles are moving along too. Should have the 70 repainted in a week or so.

You must be very proud of your son, looks like he has designed one kick a$$ power plant.

Thanks. He is pretty good at designing engines. He looks a lot at dynamic compression and calculates his cam, decking, shaving and porting. Then after flow benching and a bunch of other stuff beyond my thought process he finalizes his cam design. He is going to college for mecanical engineering and would like to get into the automotive field on the performance end of things.
The engine in his 68 Camaro is a 350 non-stroked with Chevy iron heads. He figured that one out, designed his cam, had it cut to his design and hit over 500 HP on the dyno running pump gas.
I can only bolt crap together.

I wanna know more about the car-class, a pic, etc. I usually get down to Elko or Raceway at least once a year. My dad's brother did a lot of racing at RP back in the late 70s/early 80s, always liked the sport but it's a little far for me now.

If you get there this year stop by and see us in the pits after the races. The pits are always open to the public at the end of the night. The drivers and crews enjoy meeting people and especially the kids. They teams usually hand out things to the kids, they autograph flags and pictures ect.
We're there almost every Sunday night from start of the season to the end. There are nights that they do crazy racing like trailer races and the Dukes Jump.
The people watching is worth the price of admission some nights. lol
His Mechanical Engineering Degree will be from the University of Minnesota. He has a degree in Fluid Power Technology now. He has his Hydraluic and Pneumatic HS PS and S certifications.
