For those of you that missed it...... We have a club member in this pic!



The guy on the left is Andy who has been at a few of our club things and was the photographer at AutoMania last year, the guy in the middle is none other than 67SS, the guy on the right is another friend whos father did a frame-off on a 70 SS454 car. Chris P and I have known that cream colored 66 for more than 1/2 our lives, and I think that was the built 355 that was pulled out of the '74 Camaro I bought from the little kid's dad.

Cool thread indeed. A lot of cool tricks and things he is doing there. I think I recognize that car. Im not a member of that forum otherwise I would subscribe to that thread to watch the progress.

That takes some serious engineering not only to get everything to fit but the alignment, lenghts of tubing, expansion locations, on and on, unreal. Nice job. I too am going to watch this as it progresses. It's always nice to see and read what people go through and to be able to gleem some info for future situations we get ourselves into.

I just talked with him they dynoed it today and it made 603 hp at the wheels with 12 psi of boost and running it on E-85.

 I was going to buy it at first for my chevelle because I thought it was a 66 rear end. But it turned out to be a 68 vintage. It's all yours if you want, I can let him know you are interested.

The finished product looks bad ass. My understanding that a cast iron block like the LQ4 is better for a turbo build like this. He used a specific radiator hose that fits perfectly, he says he has the part number. That may come in handy for the next guy looking to do the same thing. I hope he makes it to Car Craft like he was hoping this year.

See what he wants for it and shoot me a PM, please. I already have a '70 under the '66 now so it's the same width.  I could move the '70 3.31 posi to my '70 SS and the '71 3.08 open from the '70 to the '67 GTO.....headscratch

Chris, what rpm did it peak at, and what was the torque?

Using a 20-25% drive train loss factor, that means 724-754 HP at the crank.  Awesome!  notworthy

I think they only pulled it to 6400rpm because of the stock internals. You know I am sure he told me what the torque was but I cannot remember. I'll ask him and let you know.

Chris P. or Bryan, do you know if he had overheating issues at the Pan O Prog cruise a week ago Friday?  I saw he pulled in to the check-in tent, then pulled off to the side with the hood open and looking at things.  I guessed he was running hot since it was 'feels like' of 104 at that time!  hyper
