I sold my old Ski-Doo that didn't run but got enough out of it to get another sled. I remember Ski-Doo from when I was younger so I do kind of like them. I had a couple of late 80's Polaris previously and they were great sleds. Now I am looking for a late 90's sled.
Ski-Doo is pretty easy to figure out but I am really running on looks on picking a model from them as many are just plain ugly.
Polaris has Indy, Indy Sport, XCR, XLT, Super Sport, etc.. What is the differences in all these models?
Electric start and reverse are nice but add cost and weight. After driving the EL Touring 4 years or so I want something smaller and lighter. I think Polaris may have more repair/replacement parts available as there are so many of them out there.
have a 96 Polaris Storm 800 triple it is heavy, but goes like hell (like a Chevelle). Have not run it for 3 yrs. I put reverse in it and a new track. That was fun getting on. Lots of new bearings. Snowmobiles have tons of bearings. My friend has a Artic cat Thunder 1000cc triple heavy but goes like hell. The tirples sound cooler then doubles. I do not thnk they build them anymore and the bigger doubles may make more power. I like the sounds of the triples. JMO
I have a Polaris that I would more then like to let go of. Its outside of your criteria but its a good sled. Just needs some attention to get it back going again. Its been sitting for the last 10 years. I also have a decent trailer for it that goes with the deal.

Dear Optimist, Pessimist, and Realist.
While you guys were busy arguing about the glass of water. I drank it!
I have been a life-long ski-doo loyalist, but I hear what your saying on the ugly ski-doos. Mainly the 85 to 93s Those with the rounded front ends made me sick. I loved the Blizzards (had an 82 Blizzard MX) but lost interest with them when they changed the body style. Got back into them when they introduced the 93 MXZ. Bought a 94 Formula Z then a 96 and then a new 2002 MXZ which I still have. I LOVE that thing. It's fast, light and handles like a dream. I don't have one for sale, I'm just trying to push you into the ski-doo direction. :)

Score! Picked up a 1994 SkiDoo MXZ 470. Starts, runs, drives and looks pretty good. He took my low offer and I brought her home with a smile on my face. Picked up license and trail tags so that is done. I want to go through it from front to back and find exploded views. I will haul it Up North and then hope for snow!
