Wanted: Hood and trunk lid for 70-72

Now that I went and got rid of mine I need one for my old Chevelle I sold to a guy who is going to make it in to a circle track car in a couple years. He was inspired after he saw my new Chevelle and thought it would be a cool idea. Dome or not and in most any condition should be fine.

On a circle car, it's still gonna get wrinkled. I may have a trunk lid. I need to see how rusty the original lid is on my '70 before I give up on it.

It sounds like they do some very interesting things to the car including panels and completely redoing the rear half of the car.

OK, the lid on my car has a lot of surface rust that will be difficult to make smooth enough for a good paint job. I did buy a very clean replacement several years ago, so he can have the original. That will force me to put the new one on the car and have 1 less part laying around...nana

So why cant he just make one then? Its not that complicated to bend up a lid for it.

Don't quote me now but the panels go over the existing fender, door and rear quarters which is why (I think) my car was OK to use.

HUH ?? I thought you were having surgery today. I can arrange a time to be home but I am working like a mad dog trying to fit 2 weeks of Township work into 4 days before my surgery next Tuesday.

If you aren't planning to be at the November meeting, you could bring the header mufflers here and I will get them to Chris at the meeting.

Saturday afternoon would've been good for me but I guess Sunday afternoon will work. The later, the better, as I have mowing to do in the daylight.

Tony must be physic, turns out the guy is a dirt racer after all. They actually cut the trunk lid off just north of the key hole and he was quite pleased with Mitch's so thanks again!

I should've tried my other lid on years ago. It was bent from an impact and fit terribly. I had to stand on the left side to bend the frame down enough to close it...banghead It will take a bit more "fitting" to get it right.
