Correct original drivers side outside mirror for Nov66 to end of 67 model year.

This is  NOS quality; but it has been installed for the last 7 years on my 66.  It is correct for the 2nd half of the 67 chevelle model year.  At that time, Chevrolet when to a mirror without the bow tie on the 67 chevelle.  Not sure if it is the same as on the chevy II.  It was a  NOS replacement as the Donnelly Mirror Inc stamp is for a later year.

I just took it of my 66 as I put an original mirror with the bow tie that is correct for 66 chevelles.  Was going to have the 66 mirror re-chromed; but the cost is out of this world.

Asking $50, pass along to anyone who might be interested.

I thought bowtie mirrors were aftermarket and not original?

Original mirrors up until fall of 66 were the bow-tie mirror with glass held in by a snap ring made by Donnelly Mirror Inc.  Thus the DMI stamp. The also had another supplier that did no stamp and date the glass, something call pro ....  Part number will be cast into the underside of base. Chevrolet want to save some money, so started having the mirror made without the bow-tie .   Then they stopped using the snap ring and also glued the glass in.

The repos first started out without the bow tie, snap ring, and stamp; then added the bow tie.  Then they started producing an mirror that had the bow tie and the snap ring to hold in the glass; still no stamp.  These look just like the originals except for the number cast into the bottom of the base.

At least two grades of reproduction, buy the more expensive one.

I need a side mirror for the wagon, but I'm looking for something "driver quality" and "cheap"...
