You and Tim make this frame-off restoration stuff look easy.

It will be a show car in no time.

Dont they sell a smooth firewall for tri-fives? It almost seems like an easier route to go given the amount of work involved in straightening and smoothing the original.

Mitch it is far from easy. As you know alot of hours are involved and a very patient wife.

Chris, I would do the aftermarket firewall next time if I was to do agian. I think it is about $500 - $600 though. So I went with my labor is cheap idea this time

Yep, VERY labor intensive and time consuming. Not only are our wive's patient, they let us spend money on toys....nana

Its been a long time since I have added any pics on here. I did not make it as far as I wanted to, but not bad. Plan is sending it to paint fall of 14. Everything on it has been a fight to get it to all work. The joy and challenge of a modified car. If I can get the brake deal worked out everything else should go well.

WOW, it all looks great, Brad !!
Bet it will be some time before you take on another project of this magnitude.
One question...I'm assuming you're going to have another inner shield to protect the air cleaner from road debris/spray ?

It will be a long time before I do another project  like this. I will attach some more pics of my under fender airbox. Its in the rough stages yet. It has a cold air intake around the headlight through the chrome and black grill deal surrounding it. My version of ram air

Clever!!! So the kick panel vent air came all the way from the headlight originally ? Lots of plumbing compared to the 60's cars with the cowl vent.

I built my own exhaust system and it is off to get ceramic coated 3" flowmaster U Build it kit and 50 suv mufflers. The same ones I had on my El Camino. I am having the coating done at New Image in Lino Lakes.
