Chad T's '70 BB SS
(Preview)
Over on our FB page a new member had inquired/related his "experience" with new ownership of vintage iron... had the ride of shame on a stretcher to get it home. Back n Forth via a few texts & emails we set up a time, and Chad & his '70 came out to the 40 Watt for a look-see/once over today. He's got h...

New reason to join the CAC
(Preview)
As a few of you know we had some issues with the 71 today. Cheryl smelled gas shortly after we left, and it turned out it was leaking as the tubing went into the carb. That was easy to fix., however when we put it in the garage, I noticed an odd fluid on the floor by where the driver's side rear wheel had been. Th...

1st Fabrication Project in the "new" 40 Watt - Caster Racks
(Preview)
Nearly every 4-post lift out there also comes with a set of casters. You have to have them, but I'm guessing you'll use them 3 times in 20 years. So, what do you do with the stupid/heavy/awkward/un-stackable/big things the other 7297 days?? I had a narrow area of wall between the overhead door and corne...

Repair to be done that was not expected.

One screw assembly on front fender exposes a problem. I got the spinning screw out, saw a possible rust issue, Checked it out, all is good. But I thought I should check the pass side, so removed the rocker molding on that side. Need too take a step back and decide how to proceed. Hope that most of the b...

Update "The 40+ Watt Garage"
(Preview)
Our new house pushed all the right buttons except the attached garage sucks. It's really only good for parking a car & lawn tractor. One of the "deals" Sheryl & I struck was we'd build a detached shop/garage. It'll be big enough to store the boat, my pickup, the Roadster, and Blackie - with enou...

Bought two cars last October. One a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air convert. Burned under hood and dash panel. The other was a 1964 Cutlass Convert, complete, good bones. Vickies first car was a 1964 Cutlass convertible that I repaired and built. I stupidly "loaned" it to my brother-in-law shortly after Vick...

Hook up pcv for L79 look problems

I thought I had checked everything, guess not. Evidently the throttle plate for a 66 holly L79 has one little difference. That being the pcv fitting is for about 3/8” ID hose The oil fill tube pcv is for about 1/2”, so no hose will fit. I wonder if it is possible to put something over the throttle plat...

Recommended oil change interval is 50...
