Since the winter work is done on the 71 it was time to do some things on the Nomad.
I barley drove it last summer but when i did it seems really loud, especially under load (like when drag racing corvettes all the way to Deadman's curve).
Anyhow after a little inspection last fall it was clear where a piece of the gasket was blown out. A new set of gaskets were ordered.
Turns out the one that could be seen was just a preview of coming attractions.

Pretty sure I'm going back to a factory exhaust manifold. Not sure how much extra power the dual exhaust was providing, it sounded nice, but really was a bit like a baseball card on the bike spokes as a kid. Cleaned it up today and painted.

How much work did you make for yourself to go back to single pipe at the manifold ? You can still leave the dual exhaust and have half of the card in the spoke effect...

Actually it was a lot simpler to remove than it was to make (welded up a bunch of pieces 12 years ago)
Waiting for a new set of gaskets and Carb spacer to finish up. the Passengers side pipe is in the attic incase plans change.
