Help swapping ring and pinion
Permalink

I'm getting my new ring and pinion in this next week and am looking to save some money by doing as much labor myself as possible. I know i don't have the correct tools to correctly swap gears myself and am looking for someone wiser and with correct measuring tools to help. I can supply food and beer and can get the rear end to just about anywhere near the cities.

You might want to look at this video. There are actually 4 or 5 parts. If you are only changing ring and pinion, you should check the preload. Always more work then you expect.

You also need to make sure you have the correct series case to match the gears you are installing.

Is it a 10 or 12 bolt rear end?
