Where did you find this one Mitch? Ebay?

Refresh my memory on the other Canadian 70 again. Wasnt it an LS5 car originally? For some reason that stands out in my mind but I could have recalled incorrectly.

It was on craigslist up in Lino Lakes. I looked at it yesterday evening.

My current '70 is a 396 car also, but with an automatic and console.

From what I remember George telling me, no LS5 cars were built in Oshawa, but some were imported and have Canadian docs as supporting authenticity.

Hmmm... I think some of us know the 'Lino Lakes' seller.  cool  The listing was on his FB page yesterday.  I hope you negotiated hard with him from the price I saw on FB.   boxing

Looked like it needs some floor pan repairs, but nothing your skills can't handle.

So does this mean the 454 that was going in the 66 will now go into this car instead?

No way, this car is years from being road ready. I'm just trading horses to get a 4 speed body tag...clonk

My current '70 is actually a lot closer to what I want EXCEPT the automatic. Mine is Fathom Blue and this one was White. Not sure what color it will see if it ever gets paint. Possibly a Pearlescent White with light blue stripes and Blue interior.

I'll be keeping the engine that's in the one I have now for this car. It's a 1969 325 hp 396. It will be a yard driver next summer.

Stan, I have no idea what he had it for on FB, but c/l was $4500. I got the buckets, rear seat, hood, inner wheel houses and 2 spankin' new repro front fenders for $5100. Having a valid MN title and not driving 1300 miles to get it is worth a few bucks to me too...dunno

Same price as CL on FB.  Just seemed high since it was incomplete looking at the pics, but he didn't say it came with the other parts you mentioned, and hopefully you will be able to get the SS documentation from Canada, so that seems like a decent find for a guy with your metal working skills IMO.

He had the seats and fenders listed separately and wanted more money. I did twist his arm some to get it down to something reasonable.

For a documentable car, I feel it's OK. If it weren't a Canadian car, I wouldn't have bought it.

It needs 1 piece passenger compartment and trunk floors

I saw it on FB too, and thought it was a very reasonable price for a Canadian 70 SS.

I saw it too. Looked like he was playing dumb on the listing. Pretty sure he knows more than how it appeared to me.

I seen it on FB too and thought the same thing as well Brian. I kind of had an idea it was the same car given the timing of the FB ad. Price isnt out of line.

Perhaps, however on the plus side you actually get stuff done. Just think of it as a team with a deep bench.

The '38 at the back is a driver, no real plans to change anything this year.

The '62 reached driver status the day I put it in storage. I have the brackets for the front bumper now and that will go on this year. Other than that, a general cleaning and some detailing and it will be at No St Paul this summer.

The flat bed on the right is a driver but I have a new engine and an overdrive 5 speed to go in this year. The trans needs to be overhauled first..rolleyes

I need to win the lottery tonight so I can build all these cars before I die...laughing

If I won the Lottery I would just hire a full timer to work on my projects with me helping.

Mitch
Still think you need a numbers match 66 ElCamino 327 Small block, tilt, a/c, Pg, could have rally gauges, tint glass, power windows, to fill out your collection.
All painted except Shell. All metal work done, l/1/4 panel and bed need final hugs. Spare painted front fenders.

Probably further along than any of your other projects.

Karl

Not that there's anything wrong with that...
