Doesn't seem like that should be too hard to come by.

I sold a '65 axle to Enganeer a few years ago. Not sure if he still has it. I think that had 3.08's.

The 64-67  axles will fit too but are a little narrower and you need the pinch plate to hold the spring on.

Just about any low performance V8 with a powerglide got 3.08s standard.

Have one all the way down here in Iowa. Not sure what it is worth, got new axles and seals a couple of years ago. It is out of a 65 and the narrow one

Are you interested in selling that 12 bolt? My buddy is doing a 70 chevelle and that is the gear we want for it. He has a 12 bolt now but it is a 2.73. I would be willing to trade my 10 bolt 3.08 posi I have plus cash towards your 12 bolt if that interest you? Let me know thanks.

I think I have a buyer for my rear end, hopefully. But to answer your question yes for the 10 bolts I have the driveshaft does have to be shortened.

 But if you are interested in selling the 3.08 12 bolt you have or want to trade for another 12 bolt and possible cash let me know. It would be easier to find one with the gear ratio we want and possible posi if it is I never asked. Then to have to buy all the stuff to put into my buddies 12 bolt.

 I have a 4 series posi with 4.56 gears for your friend....that would get it to launch...laughing
