When I saw the yellow '71 in Sioux Falls, this one popped up.  It has many signs of a Heavy Chevy (Domed hood, 402 engine-which some Heavy's had, and base coupe door panels), so if I had Mitch's skills, storage, trailer, and credit card... razz I'd take a drive 4 hours away to SD.  It would be interesting to get the VIN and see if it's truly a Heavy.  The price is almost right at $4250 to get into a project like this... :

Do you think it's a '71 with '72 turn signals or a '72 with '71 grill and headlight buckets? Door panels would be worth some money if they could be saved, but they look pretty rough. Looks like lots of projects in the field behind.

You'll have to use your own CC. I've done a lot of damage to mine the last few weeks....doh

Don't know where you would store it as I have 3 off-site for the winter too...clonk

It has significant rust issues in the floor and I'm betting the trunk is bad too. It will take a lot of sheet metal to make a good foundation again.

I got new AMD quarter skins for both 66's this week. They are a world apart from the "sorta-close" pair that came with the car. They will be getting sold soon. The AMD's have much crisper lines and are intended to replace the originals, not be welded OVER them.

Found this one about a mile from my house last summer, it is still sitting in the same spot. Kind of an odd duck car 'less weight more speed' idea; the Pontiac T37 and even more rare GT37 where similar concepts.  Not sure the Heavy's are near the SS price range but I'm sure there's a cult following somewhere.
