I've never seen it, but what's up with the turbo guys like this one putting exhaust dumps mounted in the bottom of the front fenders other than wanting to burn people's ankles?
I saw a few cars doing that at CC this year.

Stan- those are typically blowoff valve/wastegate dumps. When the turbo reaches pre-set max boost, a valve opens to bleed off excess boost pressure in the intake system to maintain the boost pressure level at the pre-determined point, even when engine rpm increases and makes more turbo boost. Similar to a fuel pressure regulator- it's aspring-loaded valve. So, that bled-off boost has to go somewhere- some guys route it out under the car, but a lot of guys are sending it out in front of the tire now.
