I stumbled across this rear end yesterday when I went to a guys house to look at a posi unit. It is just a bare housing with caps.  He shot me a price of $600 but I am thinking more like $400. What do you guys think is a fair price for it?

for as scarce as those are, he's probably not that too far off, but you know me. I'd be at $350 and work my way up.

His price is pretty fair.

65s are the easiest of the early (narrow) housings to find, since they put them in almost all 327 cars.
(All 327 cars were supposed to get them in '65, but there are a few documented examples with 10-bolts)

3859140N or 3875745N  I have  spare 3875745N (66) in the garage, excellent backing plates and EB cables, housing, main caps, axles. A posi unit series 3 that needs a rebuild, cover and excellent original 3.55:1 gears.  Not for sale; but might consider something over $1600.

I would think $600 for the housing and main caps,  if it has good backing plates, is not all rusted up, and has a good cover would be in the ball park.

Well I bought it,  I was able to get him down a few bucks. It has a CX code which appears to make it a 3:07 "327" rear end so how fitting is that. It will be a 3:07 posi in a 327 car eventually.

Thanks, Stan

I really was not looking for a 12 bolt but since I came acrossed it I thought it would be cool. I have all the parts to build a 10 bolt like your car so I will probably just sell all that stuff to fund the 12 bolt now.
