M22 is very rare in '66 if it's legit... only 12 built.

Should'nt a L78 car have a factory aluminum intake on it? Looks like a 360 horse cast iron intake to me?

I'd sure love to have a Chevelle with paint like that, just to use as a daily-driver... something that looks just as interesting dirty as it does clean.

Looks pretty old school and untouched to me so sitting high is no big deal, accel coil , ladder bars pbly lakewood or MAS ......Headers by Ed was never a big tube guy so unusual he would use 2" on a 396   .......... but if it is or ever was a L78 you would expect to see an idler pulley on pass side for dbl belt system and the rad would most likely have a factory shroud with clutch fan ,  carb could be the old L78 one so check list number ........but yes looks like a L34 ............. always worth a look ........lots of M22 bot over the counter back then when M20 blew up

That numbers matching is probably not true, maybe the original block is there or maybe not.  Most likely no M22; but if it is there and vin matches that would be a plus-plus.  Should have the square port heads and the aluminum intake for a L78, so if it is a cast iron intake then the heads are probably oval port.

Yeah, I have my doubts that it's a real one-of-12 M22 car... and as Chris pointed out, reason to doubt it's an L78 car as well.

Regardless, it's way out of my budget. dunno

Car seams to be sitting very high, it might suggest there is no engine or trany in it, the block of wood in front of the tire could indicate no trans or e brake. Chris you need to run by and check it out; if the big parts are out of the car it should be easy to check the numbers.
