Ok... about 900 sq.ft. of flower & plant beds around the house.

At 2 to 3 inches deep, this wound up taking EIGHTY-FIVE bags of mulch (2 cu.ft. each).

At +/- 30lbs. each, this is 2550lbs. of ground-up trees... moved from the pallet(s) at the garden center to the trailer, trailer to wheelbarrow, wheelbarrow to location... so (in total) Sammy, Sheryl and I schlepped 3.8 TONS of material around the yard yesterday. whew

Really looks nice though  thumbsup

(Damn car is still over at my Mom's.... but if it was here I wouldn't get anything "done" razz )

Might as well get it done now before the car show and cruising season really kicks into high gear.

Been working on the yard pretty much non-stop since Thursday morning. Mowed, applied 150lbs of fertilizer/weed stop. Cleaned up flower beds, divided and moved day lilies, seeded bare spots, moved boulders to washout, etc, etc. Still waiting for the county conservation district service to show up and plan a "rain garden" to slow down the flow of water around the front ditch.

Next time you're around talk to Sheryl... she raised a few "Blue Ribbon/Champion" 4-legged lawnmowers in 4H/FFA back in the day!

Spent today power-washing the house, with Sheryl tagging behind washing the windows... gotta love spring clean-up and readying the place for a shindig!

A friend of mine runs a lawn service and I help him out some nights.  The grass has been going crazy with the rain every day.  There is a church in Rochester they like to over fertilize.  Stopped there last Thursday for the weekly mowing and this is what I found.  That's 7 days of growth.

The weather is nice now? confused

Thursday was the only day in the last 2 weeks that it did not rain here. I'm starting to worry about the duty-cycle of my sump-pump. (outside beaver system, still have a secondary pump out there, and the 2 pumps inside the house for multiple levels of protection)

bs

Might have to replace the lawnmower with a herd of sheep.

Yup, you're just far enough south to stay in the rain belt. We've not had rain since Friday night. Thursday and Friday were actually mostly sunny, although a little cool.

I hear ya on the sheep, although a "natural prairie" would work as low maintencace too.

Better make sure the sheep can swim.  The 7 day forecast down here shows rain everyday.  Wednesday looks the best because it's only 40% chance.angry

We are mowing every other day here on the south side.

In the Navy we used Sheep to keep the grass down in the Fuel Farm area, they even do edging.

We mowed last weekend, should go today but mine doesn't go quite as fast. No rain in the last 3 days.

Just finished mowing, and for once perfect timing... it started to rain again just as I shut the door on the shed when putting the mower away.  It usually starts raining when I'm halfway done.

More rain on the way it looks like.  Censored

I've never seen a yard as saturated as mine is.  We haven't been able to plant anything in the garden cause it's a swamp.  Judy has a bunch of plants potted for now.

Our sump pump discharges underground to a "dry" well.   LOL   There is no where for the water to go so I ran 30' of PVC along the ground into the woods.  I think I've just been pumping the same water for the last month.

Sounds funny, but I'm sure you're right.
