I Experienced Automotive Nirvana Yesterday

At Barrett Jackson.  What a freakin' spectacle.  We spent the whole day there yesterday and saw maybe 1/4 of it.  I intentionally left my camera behind so I wouldn't spend the whole time taking pictures.   Should have left the cell phone behind as well.  Just couldn't resist.

There's a guy a few miles from here with a '67 L79 El Camino... he has no documentation and the original engine is gone, so it's hard to prove, but everything points to it being legit.

That Pierce-Arrow is quite a car! If you have Netflix, there's a documentary called "Boys of Bonneville" on there that's definitely worth watching for any car guy. Ab Jenkins did a lot of his early racing at Bonneville in Pierce-Arrow's. They were very fast for their day.

OMG Keith!  You read my bucket list!  I've been watching on and off all week.

Just last night I said to Tina, "We're going to Barrett Jackson next year."  All she wanted to know was how warm is it in Scottsdale right now.  laughing

Thanks for the pics.  I'd forgotten what a fully assembled convertible Chevelle looks like after being around mine...

I have an aunt and uncle with a place just outside of Scottsdale. I plan to go one of these years as well since I have a place to stay.

I cant stand BJ as an organization but I always thought it would be fun to make it to one of those events to see it in person.

Ok, am I the only one that had to look up Nirvana in the dictionary? cuckoo

So many dream cars, so few drivers but it’s interesting to watch and I'll bet even better to be there.

Using nirvana the way I did here is actually an incorrect use of the word. But I think you all get the point. :)

Whatever you think of BJ, it really must be experienced at least once. I will definitely be going back.

nirvana (n)

enlightenment, spiritual enlightenment, state of grace

bliss, joy, pleasure, paradise, heaven, promised land, eden, glory, seventh heaven
_____________________________________________________________________

Now I understand completely, seems a little strange to do that with a car, but it must be ok in today’s world.
