I’m looking for a different front seat setup for the Buick, something more comfortable and adjustable for my old butt on long trips.

I’d like something like a 60/40 or 50/50 possibly with a fold down armrest, I want the seat to have the built in integral shoulder harness that would work in the vert.

I’ve seen theses seats I just can’t recall what cars they come out of; any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I can't think of anything that would have a bench seat in a 2-door (that folds forward for rear seat access) built in the past 20 years, except maybe a truck.

Kevin, that convertible coupe we saw in Hastings that had the integral seat belt had seates from a GM truck (Chevy or GMC).  That's what it is in my '03 GMC Sierra.

       Yep, and he'll need one from a standard cab to get the folding seat backs.

I want to put seats with integral belts in my old Ford truck some day but the truck benches ar too wide.  I will be looking for GM car seats.  I have seen nice leather ones out of Buicks and Cadillacs but they are sedans without folding seats you want.  I wish I could remember the vendors name but I think they were down in Minnetonka or surrounding area.  The vendor is always across from the 4H building during the BTTF's show.

Stan, when you have time could you measure the width of your seat, your trucks seat that is. 

If I could find a very comfortable and adjustable seat that I could install and remove for long trips it would make the car much road-able, not sure if road-able is a word.  Then I could store it in such a way as to make it a garage seat when not in the car.

Mike, I think your right that’s where I’ve seen them, big old Buicks and Caddy’s. Looks like one more trip to the u-pull store.  Seems these older ‘A’ body benches are wider than we think as compared to newer cars.

Kevin, I left out that mine are individual bucket seats, not a bench seat.  Do you still want measurements?

Mine is a 60/40 split bench with fold down arm rest/console. Measures 59" wide and the backs DO fold forward. Not sure why but they may be the same as a standard cab, instead of making 2 different seats.

Mitch's truck is pretty much the same as mine... is your 4-door or 3-door?

I fold mine forward whenever I'm bucking kids into their car seats.

 Same exact seat as mine I just measured and, yeah, with the headrest they are tall.

That rules out a pick-up seat, at least one from a full size PU;  the Buick and Elky measure 60 inches door panel to door panel and both seats are 53 inches wide. Looks like it’s back to the u-pull store too look at Buicks and Caddies.

 I seem to remember measuring JDs big wagon seat and being surprised that it was narrower than the “A” body seat. cuckoo John?

 Its possible your thinking of Teas's Design seats. But they are located in the grandstand every year.

 No not Teas.  This vendor has many sets of take out seats from salvaged cars.

Measured the seat in John Ds wagon tonight it’s 53 Inches; now I know whet to look for.
