Boxed Rear Control Arm Score!
(Preview)
I hadn't trolled CL lately for Chevelle parts, and had the urge last night. Scored a set of boxed lower control arms from some cool guys just down the road in Blaine. It was a Dad and his two sons that were pretty cool. They are into the street racing scene which I saw when they showed me their garage with...

Sad story involving an El Camino locally
(Preview)
I feel horrible for the two gentlemen that passed away, as it sounds like they were out for a test drive for a potential sale in a '70 El Camino locally that got into a terrible accident. Hopefully nobody in the club is impacted by this. The wrong way driver should have been taken off the road a long time ag...

What's everyone doing for the 4th?
(Preview)
Got a call yesterday at work and they said, 'Hey, that Slingshot reservation you have in Oct., do you want it this week?'. Since I'm off the rest of the week, of course I said YES! Got certified/checked out on it yesterday, and brought it home tonight. This little girl is FAST! I think the 0-60 is just o...

Srius Radio though old 66 AM/FM radio, Yes it works.
(Preview)
Well after dropping my Sirius XM for the silverado they offered me a new deal $5 of month to steam online. Skeptical but I bought the idea. Anywhere my iPhone or the wife iPhone can reach a tower, I have SM radio in both my Silverado and my Equinox plus at home. And added but unexpected benefit. Son-...

Been trolling now and then for a nice clean convertible whether it be a Mustang or GM product since Tina and I are back in the land of cool evenings and temperate weather compared to hot and sultry Kansas City, and found this one on CL this week. POR-15... Prep & Use
(Preview)
I've got a co-worker that is wondering about POR-15. He's got some stone chips on the wheel openings of his truck that have rust-bubbled and crawled to the "face" of the body. The quote from his bodyshop was $$$$, and didn't imply a guarantee the rust wouldn't return. The shop gave the suggestion of tre...

'62 Impala seat upholstery
(Preview)
Changing out the seat upholstery in the '62 Impala. Quite the fight to get it pulled to the back of the frame to hog ring down. I had to let it sit in the sun for 1/2 hour to get hot and stretch, but it looks pretty good. I couldn't get the piping perfectly straight, but maybe it will shrink some now and tighten...

Too bad these aren't closer, as I know some of us that like to drive our cars would be in on it. If only I were retired and had too much time and money on my hands...I'd do something like this in MN. an epiphany regarding 71/72 models
(Preview)
It never occurred to me until today. 70 and earlier Chevelles have teeny tiny 5" headlights while us with 71/72s have big ol' 7" ones. I will avoid any allusions to adult humor (as you should too) and say only this: It never really was something I ever thought about. I guess I assumed that they all used th...

We are in town from ND this weekend. Back in the day we used to go to Univerusty / Misway area in St. Paul and watch the cars cruise by. I know that Porky's is gone but do they still cruise this area on Sat nights? Or somewhere else to watch cool cars zip around? We will be back for the back to the 50's show.

Rear Diff and rear upper control arm bushing questions

What type of bushings do y'all use in the differential ears and rear upper control arms? I've heard it's good to use rubber in the ears, and polyurethane in the upper control arms? Reputable shops in St. Cloud/St. Joseph Area
(Preview)
Daughter Sammy is having some trouble with her ride. From the description she gives I think it's fuel related. Car may need (at least) a new filter, possibly an in-tank pump. We don't have the time or means to get it back to the 40 Watt for repairs. Anyone know of a good shop up there??

For some reason when I access the main page for the forum everything is OK. And when I go to an area like projects, thats fine. But when I click on a topic, if its more than a short sentence, I have to move the window to view all the writing. Is site is the only place this happens.

Furnace is not staying on-Any ideas?

So we had our air ducts cleaned in the house yesterday, which was badly needed but may have not been a good idea. I think it pushed the blower fan motor over the edge, as now it's running but with very low air output, and when the burners fire it shuts off after about a minute and the pre-exhaust fan stays on...
